A state entity search is not the same as an EIN lookup
A state business entity search returns the company's public registration record: legal name, status, registered agent, and filings. An EIN (Employer Identification Number) is the federal tax ID the IRS issues — and there is no public EIN database, so no tool (including this one) can look up a company by EIN. The two systems are separate: the state knows the entity, the IRS knows the tax ID.
