Type the payment amount, or switch to reverse mode to enter the net amount you want to keep. Add the instant deposit fee if you cash out to a debit card.
The exact fee, your net after fees, and the effective rate appear instantly — including the 0.5%–2.5% instant deposit fee with its $0.25 minimum and $75 cap.
Most everyday Cash App use is free: sending money from your balance, debit card, or bank account, receiving personal payments, and standard deposits to your bank all cost nothing. Fees appear in three places — funding a payment with a credit card (3%), receiving payments on a Cash App for Business account (2.6% + $0.15), and instant deposits to a debit card (0.5%–2.5%).

A personal Cash App account is a peer-to-peer wallet — payments between friends are free, and Cash App makes money elsewhere. A Cash App for Businessaccount accepts customer payments, so it works like a card processor: 2.6% + $0.15 is deducted from every payment before it reaches your balance, similar to Square's in-person rate (both are Block products).

A business payment loses 2.6% + $0.15 before it reaches you, and an instant cash-out takes another slice. On 200 payments a month, that's real money — build it into your prices.
The 3% credit card send fee and the instant deposit fee are both optional. Switching funding sources and waiting 1–3 days for deposits can cut your Cash App costs to zero.
Your 1099-K reports gross payments — before Cash App's cut. Tracking processing and instant deposit fees means a bigger Schedule C deduction and a smaller tax bill.
For 2026, Cash App issues a federal Form 1099-K to business accounts whose gross payments exceed $20,000 AND 200 transactions — the threshold restored by the One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) in 2025. Several states set lower thresholds (some as low as $600). Personal peer-to-peer payments are not reported.
A 1099-K reports your gross payments — not what landed in your bank. Processing fees, instant deposit fees, and refunds all come out of that number. Report income on Schedule C, deduct the fees, and remember net profit is subject to income tax plus 15.3% self-employment tax, with quarterly estimated payments usually required.
